Open ERP Server and GTK client are under GPL license, version 3.0 while the web-client is distributed under the "Open ERP Public License", based on Mozilla Public License (MPL) Version 1.1.

Open ERP Server and GTK Client

The main points of the GPL are:
  • the freedom to use the software for any purpose,
  • the freedom to change the software to suit your needs,
  • the freedom to share the software with your friends and neighbors,
  • the freedom to share the changes you make.

It means that it keeps the source code for the core package freely available for the open source community to build upon, providing access, copying, modification and free distribution rights. GPL is the main licence recognized and accepted by the Open Source community.

Open ERP Web Client

The "Open ERP Public License" is based on Mozilla Public License (MPL) Version 1.1 with the restrictions below.

Restrictions
  • All names, links and logos of Tiny, Open ERP and Axelor must be kept as in the original distribution without any changes in any software screens, especially in start-up page and the software header, even if the application source code has been changed or updated or code has been added.
  • All distributions of the software must keep source code with OEPL.
  • All integrations to any other software must keep source code with OEPL.
