The stable version is usually updated monthly (currently from the 6.0 code branch). These monthly releases encompass only bug fixes and security updates, and should not require any migration operation.
A major release of the stable version is normally published once or twice a year, from the development branch.
The development version (currently from the 6.1 trunk code branch) is available via OpenERP's source code repository, and changes daily as development progresses towards the next major release.
This version is not meant for production use, but we provide alpha/beta versions for early adopters and testers on this page.
For developers and early adopters, nightly builds are available for the 6.0 (stable) and 6.1 (trunk) branches.
Every night a new set of installer packages are generated automatically based on the latest version of these branches.
