I am trying to create a workflow for account entries. The states are draft, confirmed, posted and cancel. The workflow is from Draft then it is confirmed, then verified. The entry can be cancelled when in the confirmed and posted state. We also assigned a specific user to the buttons, namely Finance / Accountant for the confirm button and Finance / Manager for the Verify and Cancel buttons.
The Verify and Confirm button are readonly accordingly to the assigned user. The problem is for the Cancel button. The button has the type 'object' so I am assuming the problem lies there. When the type is changed, the button is hidden correctly but does not function instead.
Can anyone help me??

Why you create cancel button type=object?
keep it workflow and create activity and transition for that.
on transition you can assign role.
so that the user having the same role can see the button.
For Ex. in invoice workflow for proforma state user required invoice role.

Thanks for the reply sir. I've done that before, using type "workflow" for the button Cancel. It is hidden as it should accordingly to the user. The problem is, the user can no longer cancel the entry when the entry has a posted state. Whereas if it is uses the "object" type, it can cancel the entry.
What i need to know now is how to hide buttons of type "object". I've tried assigning the appropriate role in the transition but still it is not hidden for other users.
Thanks!!
