Installing the BI client is a real pain in the * - and in fact I never succeeded! It is based on old libraries (turbogears 1, sqlalchemy 0.4, etc.) and requires python 2.5

So what I have done instead is to port the bi code to the existing client-web. I have also migrated the code to more recent versions of the underlying libraries - the bi client now works with python 2.6 and sqlalchemy 0.5.5

The code for the web client can be found at https://code.launchpad.net/~raphael-all ... ent-web/bi

The code for the update olap module can be found at
lp:~raphael-alla-gmail/+junk/openobject-olap

Status of the code:
- the code is based on the 5.0 branch of the client-web. There are almost no modification to the base code, so we can consider standard features are stable
- the bi code works mostly. It is possible to use the cube browser, drag and drop measures and dimensions. Graph views do not work
- there are still some bug in the bi part of the code. Please feel free to assist in fixing them

You rocks!!!

Just tested and it seems to work fine, at least for the main features.

Thanks a lot mitija!

I'll try to test it by myself, but if you don't mind, I'd like to make you a couple of questions:

1)

As you said, I was not able to test the BI by myself when I tried a couple of months ago. Speaking in "functional terms", what's your overall impression of the module?

2)

I've been following the development of the OOOR connector, yesterday it was launched a new version: http://openerp.com/forum/topic15358.html . As you can see in its roadmap, connecting with Pentaho Agile BI is on mind. Aside of the benefits of an all-integrated plattform, how do you see the functional gap between both solutions?

For more information regarding Pentaho BI, you can read http://wiki.pentaho.com/display/AGILEBI ... telligence or watch: http://wiki.pentaho.com/display/AGILEBI ... o+Agile+BI

Many thanks in advance!!

Hello,

I installed the BI module. It works partially. I can select a cube schema and a cube and make a dynamic report and save the current query.

My questions are:

1.) If I click on Bar Chart View I became 2 errors:

Quote:
Open Flash Chart IO ERROR
Loading test data
Error #2D32

and
Quote:
Externel Interface is allowed - gct-data=null

2.) If I select a olap query I have't a MDX button to execute and represent it

Have I someting forgotten about a needed package?
Openerp is on Ubuntu karmic.

Best Regars

I have a error to try cube browser

Code:

FATAL: la autentificación «password» falló para el usuario «postgres»

I'm using the openerp-server with the BD user postgres, but the rest of the aplication works fine.

I already have the client installed business intelligence. now I rarely miss a thing. Playing with cubes that brings predefined. I realized, that the query browser allows me to select the cube the first time since then in the dropdown does not show anything (I can not change the cube), for this I have to quit the application and re-enter.

Does anyone know a solution?

thanks

otherwise, the results when I play with the buckets, I can only see as tables, not working or the bar chart or the sectors ...

in both cases I got the following error:

Code:
External Interface is allowed  -  get-data = null

Hello,

I downladed both the BI addons and the bi web client inidcated in this thread.
However, after installing the client on Windows, the service fails to run.

All the info I could find in the event log is

File "C:\Program Files\OpenERP Web\python25\lib\site-packages\win32\lib\win32serviceutil.py", line 805, in SvcRun self.SvcDoRun() File "C:\Program Files\OpenERP Web\bin\OpenERPWebService.py", line 88, in SvcDoRun sys.exit(TinyService._svc_display_name_ + " is not running, check the logfile for more info.")
<type>
OpenERP Web is not running, check the logfile for more info.

After trying to manually restart the service, it keeps crashing.

With 5.2dev the story is different, the web client runs but the Server service crashes.

I really don´t know what to try next................

Please help

Hi, I am using openerp server 5.0.12 from source on Ubuntu Lucid. Web client and OLAP module from this thread.

I can define and test my database connection successfully. However, when I try to load the data, I get the following error:

Any idea what this is?

Hi,

Firstly I'm new to OpenERP. At the moment I'm busy installing the BI module, well I'm actually finished. However I used the old libraries and each time I test I get a "404-page not found error". And I have noticed that new libs are available but now I would like to know whether this module can work with the old libs? Thank you... And if it can can someone please help me get over this hurdle described below.

I tried a couple of tricks which were in vain and another thing is that when I manually install the RulesDispatch this is what I get. after running "easy_install -f . RuleDispatch-0.5a1.dev-r2506"

Processing RuleDispatch-0.5a1.dev-r2506
Running setup.py -q bdist_egg --dist-dir C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator
\My Documents\WORK\OpenSource\OpenERP\BI_files\OpenERPBI\Packages\RuleDispatch-0
.5a1.dev-r2506\egg-dist-tmp-jvjl44
error: Setup script exited with error: Python was built with Visual Studio 2003;

extensions must be built with a compiler than can generate compatible binaries.
Visual Studio 2003 was not found on this system. If you have Cygwin installed,
you can try compiling with MingW32, by passing "-c mingw32" to setup.py.
