This is a question for Inventory and Accounting Experts... Thanks in advance for your time and effort...

I need to setup several Inventory Accounts in my balance sheet. One account per product category.

Now the issue comes when I try to make the automatic accounting for the goods reception (for a purchase order). I understand that the Inventory Accounts must be setup in the LOCATIONS in the Stock Management Setup. And I can create one Inventory Location per Product Category, So I will have the accounting linked as needed, BUT...

But how do I link the products or product categories to a specific location in order to avoid hand efforts and mistakes in Purchase Orders receipts?

I need that each product automatically accounts to it's inventory account (the one that belongs to its Product Category)... But this seems NOT to be possible in OpenERP.

Usually, in other ERPs, is the product (or the product family/Category) the one that drives the inventory accounting, and NOT the locations...

I also have same problem as mentioned by VCANTU.
Since inventory account varies from product to product and one location can have many products. So, I want to heat the inventory account based on product/Product category not on location.
And in purchase order/Sales Order their will be multiple products which will have different inventory account, and i can heat that accounts under same location picking.

How will i do this in openerp?

It would be also great to have the possibility to specify different locations per purchase/sales order line.
