Product cost structure report - bug?

Hi,

I've created products A, B, C, D and E with following BOMs:
A = B + C
C = D + E

These BOMs work fine with Procurement request:
requesting procurement of one A brings:
- procurement of one B
- and procurement of one C,
- - which in turn brings procurement of one D
- - and of one E.
Seems quite perfect.

BUT the report "Product cost structure" is more problematic.
Applied on C, it gives the correct cumulated cost of D and E.
But applied on A, it give the costs of B (correct) + the cost of a C (incorrect) not based on my BOM D+E, (simply gives standard cost of C, doesn't calculate it from C's BOM).

Moreover, I was surprised to see there had appeared a new, self created, empty BOM component for C (which is obviously used to calculate the cost structure, instead of the BOM I created).

Am I doing somthing wrong? Is there a bug?
Can I find other BOM based cost reports which would work better ?

I hesitated, wanted to be sure it's a bug before, not a bad configuring from me.
From the description above, do you think it's a bug?
Do you have the same problems?

Hello,

Its a BUG i think so coz it not takes into account component costs..if component has separate BoM attached to it..

I finally posted a bug report on:

where it's been explained to me it's not a bug, but at this point and without further explanation, I disagree and still maintain it is NOT normal that a product cost report simple ignores the BoMs of the products used.
