I have a product setup as followed

-Batter Charger Assm (MTS, produce)
---12V charger (MTO, buy)
---Terminal plug (MTO, buy)
---Mains head (MTO, buy)

The Battery Charger Assm is sold and stocked as an individual part but purchased as the set of the three lower level parts.

I would like only the part "Battery Charger Assm" to appear on sales orders but have the three lower level parts appear on the purchase order, is this possible?

I tried to set the top level part as "produce" with a phantom BOM containing the three lower level parts, but that generates a manufacturing order which is not required.

What you have described should work (I tested quickly and it works for me).

BOM is kit/phantom with the three products as components. Sell the product and go to procurement exceptions - the products should be there with a state of running and PQ records created for each of the products and no manufacturing orders.
