We are just starting out with OpenERP and have created show new stock locations etc..

But when I add a new stock item with say a qty of 10, and then go back to the product page it show the real and virtual stock as Zero?? am I missing a stage? I already have the stock on a physical shelf and want to slowly migrate the stock hold from an existing old stock management system.

We really like the look of this as complete system so may have to keep popping on here for help if that's ok.

check the product's Procurement Location field, in the "Procurement & Locations" tab in the product form
