Add Color Options to Products in v6.0.3

We purchase product from manufacturer and resell it to end users via a website. We recently purchased the openERP v6.0.3 for this new business and I am in the process of setting up products but I cannot see how to add the color options at the product level. Does anyone know what module I would need and how to configure?

What you need is module product_variant_multi, and maybe any of its "submodules" (modules with the same beginning in the name) to complete its functionality.

I did download and install the product_varriant_multi module. It did not affect the fields at the product level. I do see the dimensions values etc under Sales-->Configure-->product but there is no guidance on setup and when I enter data in those fields it does not appear at the product level or when I create sales orders etc. I attempted to download the corresponding product_variant_configurator and/or sale_product_multistep_configurator and I received an error:ValueError: No references to sale.group_sale_user

I have v6.0.3 and it has been suggested that there is a bug in the 6.0 version for this...is that true?

Well, as far as I have used, I didn't get any trouble, but it was a long ago. I'm thinking that if you only have one type of variations (color), you don't need product_variant_multi. Standard OpenERP 6 can handle variants. Maybe with this you avoid problems.

I will have other types of attributes, such as mounting types and possibly size variations that will have added cost, so I am really looking for a flexible and complete solution.

However, I did see claims that openERP handles varriants in the core but was unable to find the functionality and saw posts from other people who said it was "useless" and I needed the product_varriant_multi. But if you know how to add colors with the core, it would be a starting point for me...I only see one filed for "attributes" at the product level under one of the primary tabs, but nothing I enter there shows up anywhere in the sales order process.

Indeed, I have quickly reviewed standard support for variants and it seems that is useless. I don't know if in version 6.1 that is coming in february they will improve this support.

If I have a bit of time, I will try to install product_variant_multi and use it, but for now I can't help you more. Maybe any other forum user can.

I have the same problem with the color variant (i need to insert juste the color) from the raw products purshaed, if there is how to manage it with openerp standard thank you form help me for this point, becaus i'm installed product_variant_multi and it is not installed in the Purshases menu.
i have openerp 6.0.3
