Hi, I'm using OpenERP Version 5.0.0-3.

In the "Stock management module", in the "reporting" section, there is a report called "Locations' Values". I have 2 warehouses and a number of locations within each warehouse, the primary locations for each warehouse being the "Stock" location.

When I look at this report for one of the "Stock" locations, the "Real Stock" value is incorrect. I know this because I have done many more transactions (in terms of brinings products/stocks into this stock location) but also because when I view "Products by location", for this Stock location, I can see the actual Real Stock quantities which is different and higher.

Is there something I have configured incorrectly for this to be happening? I have followed all the documentation for creating products/locations/warehouses as specified but this report seems to be misleading (unless I look at "Products at location".

Thanks,
Faizan.

I'm getting similar issues, sorry it's not an answer.

When I bring products into stock my stock locations report that these products are located in a supplier location and not my local stock location.

I am also having trouble getting my purchased stock to effect my asset account which is giving me negative balances in my balance sheet. I'm sure this is related.

Since I am primarily using the Inventory module along with Purchasing, I cannot comment on the accounts side of things (thought I've had to create basic account types and codes, I'm not really using or keeping an eye out on the financials side).

I agree with you on the bringing stocks into the stock location increases value in the Supplier location, but not the stock location. This is odd. Can anyone comment?

When I receive goods in, the source location is suppliers and the destination location is stock which is correct, it just doesn't seem to populate the stock location with anything even though the products are in stock.

Very odd.

Hi, I'm using OpenERP Version 5.0.12 and facing a similar problem on the report on Location Values. Are the location values only based on Cost Price? My products prices/values are based on the partner section on the product form which dosen't post any details on the location values after any given transaction. What could I be doing wrong for this to occur? What configurations did I miss out. Your Help is highly appreciated

Regards
Jammaeh

the location values are product-qty * cost_price
according to various emails with OpenERP these values are not intended to be used for accounting.

I have created a branch which stores move_value_cost along with the product_qty in stock_move which allows to calculate the correct value (average price) of any stock location and production lot for any given date(time)
this value us also used for accounting
all code for this you can find here, but it is not accepted (and maintained) by OpenERP (yet).
https://code.launchpad.net/~openerp-com ... price_unit

hope that helps

Thanks Ferdinand for this insight and for availing the code. I also think that the location values should give the true nature of stocks as its important in accounting especially if the stocks in question have disparities in pricing like in my situation where similar products may be procured at different prices from different suppliers/partners.. I do hope the OpenERP community will consider your proposition in this situation as its quite key.
