Hi guys!

I just stumbled over OpenERP, and I am very interested in using it for our small company. Since I would like to have an all-in-one solution, I would also like to have some typical Groupware functions, especially support for Funalbol for syncing contacts and calendar with mobile phones, and (web)bookmark management, to have often used website addresses at hand browser-independent.

Concerning Funambol I only found this tinyerpconnector, but it is still in beta stage and does only offer contacts sync for now.

Concerning bookmark management I could not find any info.

Are these two functions of any interest for adding to OpenERP?

Unfortunately I am not a programmer, so I can not help developing.

At the moment you can just play with the caldav support of the trunk version to sync data.

That funambol connector was developed for tinyerp, so it is obsolete.

I'm having a look at the funambol python apis to understand how would be hard to develop a working connector.
But this will take time

Thanks for the fast feedback, enlightX. I must have overlooked the fact, that the posting mentioning the link to tinyerpconnector was from February 2009, not 2010.

Funambol integration does not seem to be that hard, since most other (groupware) projects (like egroupware or Simple Groupware, which is pretty much a one-man-project) are supporting it out of the box, but then again, I am not a developer, so I have no clue about the effort.

The web-bookmark-management could also be pretty useful, especially if a lot of webpages have to be accessible to all employees.

Another thing that came to my mind is the central LDAP addressbook, so that contacts can also be accessed by other applications. There was something mentioned about c2c_contact_to_ldap, but since I am a total newbie concerning OpenERP, I don't know what it does and how it works. Will have to install OpenERP on our server and start digging.

Some more thoughts about OpenERP & Funambol, and a possible workaround:

For OpenERP there is c2c_contact_to_ldap, which syncs the OpenERP contacts with a LDAP directory.

For Funambol there is a LDAP Connector, which allows to sync contacts from SyncML enabled clients (mobile devices) and a LDAP server.

Using both would solve the problem, and does not require an additional connector for OpenERP at all.

Did anybody already test such a setup? Any thoughts?

If openerp will support caldav (or groupdav) then you can use bionicmessage.net caldav to funambol connector and sync all your syncml compliant phones.

Caldav servers usually support events and tasks, but they can support also contacts via carddav like davical server.

BTW: does somebody knows if openerp caldav implementation can export tasks of openerp gtd module?

Thanks,

Mario
