I have the following situation: In the products we build we use for example 2 pieces of product x. The vendor sells product x in packages of 10. So i want openERP to order 1 package per 10 needed product x. What is the best way to do this?

You can manage it with the packaging option of the product. Check the packaging tab in the product, over there you can set different packages types with different quantities per package type
