Hi,
I have several parts in a finished product that require an external painting operation.
-So we get in the unpainted part which I have defined as a product "BaseUnpainted"
-We clean it up and check for defects then deliver it to the painting subcontractor which I have defined as a product "PaintingOperation"
-After a few days the painting is done and we pick up the finished product "BasePainted"

I have defined the BOM for BasePainted including BaseUnpainted and PaintingOperation, the routing center is defined with the supplier location set. And auto picking is turned off.

When a sale is generated, this is what happens.

- MO generated for BasePainted in waiting goods state (good)
- PO generated for BaseUnpainted and PaintingOperation (good)
- When BaseUnpainted is received, delivery order to send BaseUnpainted to the subcontracter is generated (good)
- when BaseUnpainted is delivered MO changes state to ready (good)
- when I click consume and produce the finished product BasePainted is automatically moved from production -> stock (no good)

I want the finished product to move from production to the subcontractor location and have an incoming shipment or manual stock move to be generated for subcontractor -> stock

I can change the field "finished product location" manually but I would like the scheduler to handle this. Is this possible?

after checking the code, i think you can try the following:
1-in finished product configuration set the following:
a- set the production location to the location of the subcontractor
b- set the procurement location to the location where sales order should get product's from
2- in routing location set the location of raw material location

i hope this will be helpful.

Unfortunately it did not work. The production location in the MO changes to the supplier location, but the finished product location is still stock.
If I can not figure it out I can just make sure that we only consume and product the MO when we receive the painted product.

Hi,

I am talking now without the program in front,
but for product BasePainted you could create a new location that is internal location, and set that in the MO where you have Source And Destination location.

That could just work.
