I can't seem to find a module that allows instructions to be inserted into a BOM. We are evaluating Openerp 6.0.3 and need to include things like mixing times, temperature, quality control checks and the like. Any suggestions?
Also is there a module for entering quality checks say tests to be done on a product upon receiving or upon production?

You could create a property called notes & add in there (then print out on documentation) if fairly standard, otherwise would need to add a tab to BOM.

For quality checks I would use a location (say call it quality) and have manufactured items go from the manufacture location to the quality location. Then you would process a move to go from quality to stock. Check the documentation around locations and chaining for more information.

I'd just use BOM revisions field, so then you have a history and print the latest on the MO.

Both great suggestions. I was playing with the revisions field and also with the properties table.
What I'd really like to do is have a component type that allows me to add information from the knowledge base as if it were a product. It would be great for including images of labels, bottles and caps.
It'll be something to toy with this weekend.
