  • Data Source

Odoo reports are built based on multiple data tables connected in one or more ways. Power BI dashboards are built on Odoo tables and transformed data as needed.

Number of Pages:Odoo reports are generally single page consolidate report. Hence, it shows important but few information on a single page. Power BI dashboard shows important data in multiple interactive KPIs. Dashboards can be of multiple pages, allows user to get detailed intuitive understanding of the data.

Visualizations:Odoo reports shows text summary of data. This way of reporting is least intuitive. Power BI Dashboards concentrate on building insights into the data by using attractive visuals, graphs, charts, etc.

Template:Odoo Reports generally have a set template. This pre-defined template is hard to alter and shows few to none visual KPIs. Dashboards can have multiple templates. It is up to the creator to visualize the data to fit the needs of the business. Power BI dashboards are flexible to develop and easy to alter.

3. KPIs Explained:

profit&loss

Revenue:revenue is a key performance indicator (KPI) used by sales departments to track the total amount of revenue generated from sales over a given period. It's also referred to as total revenue and is a good measure of business health.

Expense:Expense is the money a company or organization spends on an ongoing, day-to-day basis to run its business. These expenses can be one-time or recurring.

Gross Profit:Gross profit is the profit a business makes after subtracting all the costs that are related to manufacturing and selling its products or services.

EBITDA:An indicator of a company's operating profitability, EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization) measures earnings before deducting non-operating costs.

Gross Margin %:Gross margin percentage is the percentage of revenue a company retains after subtracting the cost of producing or selling its goods or services. It's a key financial performance indicator that shows how efficiently a company generates profit from its direct production costs.

4. Slicers:

profit&loss

Month & Quarter Slice:This provides an interactive way to narrow down the data displayed in visualizations to a particular timeframe, making it easier to focus on specific periods of interest.

Partner Slice:Partner slicer KPIs are quantifiable benchmarks that measure a partner's performance. They can provide insights into sales performance, such as how many deals were closed, how many opportunities were had, and sales velocity.

Class:Class filter provides an interactive way to understand the previous years and this year's Odoo internal group class performances according to year. This filter only filters the line chart and shows the data linearly.
